Let’s talk.
Book a conversation, not a sales call. Tell us what’s in front of you — a decision you’re weighing, a number you don’t trust, a transaction on the horizon, or just the sense that the business has outgrown how it’s being managed financially. We’ll tell you honestly whether we can help and what it would look like. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll usually know someone who is.
We typically work with companies at $10 million and up in revenue, though the decisions in front of you matter more than the number.

Questions We Get Asked First
What does it cost?
Advisory Sprints start at $7,500. Diagnostics and projects are quoted as a fixed fee against a written scope. Ongoing advisory is a monthly retainer with a defined cadence and a stated minimum. You will have a number in writing before anything begins.
Do you replace my bookkeeper or my CPA?
No. We don’t do bookkeeping, monthly close, financial statement preparation, or tax returns. If you have a provider doing a good job, we work with them and make their output more useful. If you don’t have one, or the one you have isn’t keeping pace with the business, we can introduce you to firms in our network. You evaluate and engage them directly.
What if I’m not planning to sell?
Most of our clients aren’t, and some never will. “Run your company like you’re going to sell it” is a management standard, not a prediction. The disciplines that make a company sellable — clean numbers, cash you can see coming, margins you understand, a business that runs without you — are the same ones that make it a better company to own in the meantime, and they pay for themselves long before any transaction.
We’re under $10 million. Should we still reach out?
Possibly. That figure describes a typical fit rather than a rule, and what matters more is whether the decisions in front of you warrant senior financial judgment. If we’re not the right answer today, we’ll say so directly and usually point you somewhere useful.
How quickly would we see anything?
A sprint or a diagnostic runs two to four weeks and ends with written findings and a recommendation you can act on. That’s deliberate. Almost every relationship opens that way rather than with a retainer, so you see how we work on one defined question before either of us commits to anything ongoing.
Who actually does the work?
Proteris is a CPA-led firm. Sean Murray is the principal on every engagement — he runs the meetings, forms the judgments, and is accountable for the recommendation. Analysis, modeling, and build work are supported by analysts and contract specialists working under his review, which keeps engagements moving without diluting who is responsible for the advice. Specialist work outside our scope — tax, attest, formal valuation, bookkeeping — is handled by independent firms you engage directly.
What actually happens on the first call?
Thirty minutes. You describe what’s in front of you, we ask questions, and we tell you honestly whether we can help. There is no presentation and no proposal on that call. If it makes sense to go further, a written scope follows within about a week.
